Walnut and Christmas wrapping micarta fountain pen
This design began with the tail end of a roll of wrapping paper and an idea. The dark gray paper was laminated with epoxy resin and bonded to a beautiful piece of walnut to create the blank. Up close you can see flecks of gold at the layer boundaries, evidence of the gold stars on the paper peeking through. The metal fittings are all brass, and the pen comes with a cartridge converter for the use of bottled ink.
